Ila Rose

Ila rose is based out of Eugene Oregon. Her work is earthy and detailed and tends to be colorful yet dark, complex, lush and visceral. She layers symbols which emerge from a combination of research and subconscious exploration. Ila feels that creative practice is vital to self -and collective- reflection and healing, and believes that the process of making art directly reflects the process of forging our paths as individuals and collective. There is much to be learned, in any creative practice, about destruction, enduring and transforming suffering, presence, and connection to creator and creation -this exploration unfolds in the layers and content of ila’s paintings.
